About Geriatric Trauma Centre (ATZ) Cologne-Merheim, -Kalk and -Porz
The Geriatric Trauma Centre (ATZ) Cologne is a certified geriatric trauma centre in cooperation between Cologne municipal hospitals in Merheim, the Protestant Hospital in Kalk (EVKK) and Porz am Rhein Hospital. Under the direction of trauma surgeons and geriatricians, an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nursing, physiotherapy, social services, occupational therapy, psychology and speech therapy treats patients with age-related accidental injuries. The centre is jointly certified by the DGG, DGGG, BV Geriatrics and the DGU and offers holistic care with the aim of early mobilisation and restoration of independence.
