About West German Cancer Center Essen
The West German Cancer Center Essen (WTZ) is the central facility in Essen University Medicine for the treatment of cancer patients. Under the umbrella of the WTZ, various medical disciplines work together and offer tailored therapies in interdisciplinary treatment programs. The WTZ is jointly funded with the Oncology Center of UK Münster as an Oncology Excellence Center by the German Cancer Aid. The WTZ outpatient clinic is the first point of contact for patients with cancer; approximately 80,000 cases are treated on an outpatient basis annually at the Essen location.
