About Ruhrland Clinic - West German Lung Center at University Hospital Essen
Ruhrland Clinic in Essen-Heidhausen is the West German Lung Center of University Medicine Essen and has been specialized in the treatment of lung and respiratory diseases for over a century. Around 20,000 patients are cared for per year. The clinic comprises five specialist departments: pneumology, thoracic surgery, interventional bronchology, intensive care medicine and ventilator weaning, anesthesiology and pain therapy as well as thoracic oncology. Focus areas include, among others, COPD, lung cancer, pulmonary fibrosis, cystic fibrosis, sleep medicine and lung transplantation.
