The Children's Kidney Center Bonn (KNZ) is the first outpatient children's kidney center in Germany and was opened in spring 2020 by pediatric nephrologists Gesa Schalk and Bernd Hoppe. It offers complete diagnostics and treatment of the spectrum of pediatric nephrology including specialized consultations, all common dialysis procedures, kidney replacement therapies, as well as pre- and post-care of kidney transplants. The catchment area includes the southern part of North Rhine-Westphalia and the northern part of Rhineland-Palatinate. The practice is located in Bonn-Lengsdorf in the medical building next to Edeka.
