The Department of Orthopaedics, Trauma Surgery and Plastic-Aesthetic Surgery at Cologne University Hospital provides comprehensive care for all injuries and conditions of the musculoskeletal system. Key areas include geriatric trauma surgery, pelvic and acetabular surgery, joint surgery and arthroplasty, hand surgery, paediatric orthopaedics, plastic and aesthetic surgery, shoulder and elbow surgery, orthopaedic oncology and spinal orthopaedics. The department has over 100 beds, several operating theatres and is involved in emergency care at Cologne University Hospital.
